Is this workshop equivalent to the official IFS Training?
This is a workshop in IFS theory and practice. It is not an Internal Family Systems Institute (IFS-I) level 1 training. Only the IFS-I can offer training in IFS. Only graduates of official level 1 Training by IFS-I may competently and in good faith practice IFS clinically and facilitate unburdenings with clients. For level 1 Training by the Institute please follow this link: https://ifs-institute.com/trainings/level-1
Workshop Facilitator: Oliver Brooke
Oliver is a Certified Internal Family Systems Therapist, Registered Professional Counsellor (ACA Level 4), Recognised Clinical Supervisor and is an experienced group facilitator. Oliver has worked in human services for over a decade and has seven years of experience running adult education groups. Oliver was a counsellor for Relationships Australia WA and ran behavior change groups, Relationship Education groups, and professional development workshops for over five years. Oliver now focuses on his private practice, which provides IFS psychotherapy, clinical workshops in IFS, and IFS clinical supervision.
Oliver is known as a calm, welcoming, and thoughtful facilitator. He speaks clearly and with heart about the topics he is passionate about (especially everything IFS-related!). As a presenter and group leader, Oliver is highly organised, offering structured workshops that provide digestible building blocks of knowledge reinforced with visual, live, or recorded examples. He is also flexible and follows the cues and needs of participants.
You will receive engaging information delivered openly and interactively. While you are in the participant role, Oliver welcomes all parts of you, including those who may feel skeptical about the course content. All curious questions are welcome - he believes it deepens all learning.
Oliver knows that to take his clients through the process of healing, he must walk beside them. Oliver is committed to his personal healing journey as an IFS client, committing to regular IFS therapy. He also commits to regular supervision with IFS Lead Trainer Kirsten Lundeberg from the IFS Institute and attends an advanced IFS consulting group with Robert Falconer fortnightly. Oliver integrates the IFS model into his day-to-day life and spiritual practices.
“In the IFS workshop, I want to facilitate a safe interactive, and engaging experience. Where you will have the opportunity to learn the theory and process of IFS therapy. You will also experience several IFS mediations to meet some of your own parts, and two live demonstrations of IFS therapy, and I will provide you the time and space to practice IFS first steps yourself. I am very excited to have you in my group” - Oliver, December 2022
What are past participants saying?
“I found the IFS Advanced Experiential Workshop with Oliver to be extremely beneficial on both a professional and personal level. Oliver maintained a gentle pace for the small group yet provided ample opportunity to engage in, experience, and appreciate the IFS process.”
- Linda Tanner, Clinical Psychologist - September 2024
“I found this training transformational, both personally and professionally. The safety, wisdom and acceptance Oliver provided allowed me to engage and experience a new sense of hope and confidence in helping to bring healing to myself and others.”
- Advanced Workshop Participant - September 2024
“Following the training, I felt so much more prepared to lead clients through getting to know and release their own legacy burdens. I loved the way there was lots of time allocated for experiential learning using demos and our own practice. that really allowed me to get a felt sense of what it’s like to put the concepts into practice. Oliver always creates a beautifully welcoming and open space and invites curiosity and self-awareness of our own parts. This created a really safe feeling for me which is so important when using IFS because it’s trauma work. I am so grateful to have found Oliver and his professional offerings as they have been such a catalyst of growth for me personally and professionally. It was a very robust follow-up to the Introductory training I did with Oliver in 2023. Thank you, Oliver.”
- Yara Heary, Psychologist - September 2024
“Deeply touched, a profound training and experience. Oliver's deep passion for IFS is truly infectious, the most profound workshop I have ever attended.”
- Stuart Hight, Counsellor - September 2024
“The IFS Advanced Experiential workshop provided a profound depth of knowledge and practice that built on the introductory workshop. The blend of lectures, live demonstrations, and practical learning opportunities made it feel so easy for participants to understand themselves and others within the IFS framework and to embody the model’s processes of compassionate curiosity toward psychological pain. The learning experience was supported by the presence of other trained therapists seeking to also develop their understanding of this powerful and gentle model. Oliver Brooke delivered the IFS material in a straightforward way that connected well with attendees. I have come away from this training with a robust ability to work even more effectively using an IFS-informed approach in a brief intervention sub-acute community mental health context.”
- Rachael, Mental Health Clinician - September 2024
